Compost Focus Group 2002
This follow up focus group continued to identify motivations that residents would have to use compost. The awareness of compost was much higher than in 1998, and motivators such as garden beauty, and health of kids and pets were discussed. Messaging from this focus group will be used to present compost in terms of it’s potential value to residents.
Residential Yard Trimmings and Street Sweeping Contract 2001
The exclusive contract for yard trimmings collection, processing, and street sweeping affects 200,000 residents citywide, and includes provisions and performance measures for diversion, compost production, approved products, STA standards for testing of compost, and return of compost material for use at city facilities.
Compost Focus Group 1998
This focus group was carried out to determine perceptions and understanding about composting and identify motivations that might exist for residents to use more compost. Key findings showed that residents were motivated to use and make compost as a way to protect the San Francisco Bay. |
